A good nights sleep. Without interruption.

A clean house. Without asking for it.

Food in the fridge. With the shelves cleaned out before the new stuff goes in.

Breakfast in bed. With dark chocolate on the side.

Time to read a book. Without pictures.

Laundry folded. As if you knew that.

What mom really wants for Mothers Day is for you to be her mind-reader. To know before she even asks for it what it is she really wants.

Moms of newborns and toddlers are too sleep-deprived to be articulate. You need to figure her out because she cannot quite put her desires into words. Moms of teens are too emotionally-charged to be sensible. You need to understand that she is hormonally-challenged (very low in the estrogen department) at exactly the same time that she is parenting other hormonally-challenged creatures (very high in the testosterone or estrogen departments) who, for the first time ever, are witty enough, quick enough and strong enough to stand up to her! (I never understood this law of nature by the way!) Moms with fully-grown kids are both thrilled at new-found freedoms but saddened by the lack of feathers in their nests. You need to provide her with the stimulation of which she had become accustomed.

I find that my own desires for Mothers Day change with each passing year. They have ranged from getting away from it all to a deep-seated desire to be particularly close to home. From hoping for another baby to praying for a completely-healed teenager. And from material desires ranging from a new mixer for my kitchen to a completely new kitchen.

Motherhood always involves evolution. For its twists and turns take us to places both fully-expected and completely improbable. It requires re-invention, both of yourself and of your role. I marvel now at how I evolved from picking up my toddlers toys only to stand back and watch them pick up after themselves for a few golden years only to evolve once again to having to pick up after them as their teen brains have seemingly cleared out all of those cells holding the memory of exactly how to do just that!

However you choose or happen to spend this Mothers Day, I hope that it gives you just the space you desire. Whether in the company of those you love or in the solitude of total silence; at home or far away; with your spouse and kids or without. That you get one day if only one to be the queen of your castle and of your kingdom. Big or small. Noisy or quiet. Celebrate the lives in your care. And may you feel blessed.

Right after opening a gift in front of the gift giver, the next thing to do is pretty obvious. You act astounded like you didn’t expect to have any kind of gift during Christmas and also during your birthday. As soon as the award-winning thrilled act ends, that is when you say thank you. I’ve memorized this routine ever since my first Holiday gift.

A little thank you can go far. I realized that when I mention thanks as if I mean it, the gifts just continue coming. There is certainly not a shortage with gifts whenever I act like a polite little kid. I’m thinking that maybe I should add in a thank you note or letter along with personalised Christmas cards next time. Adding personal touches definitely works. It shows how someone took time to write a meaningful message of thanks.

A few feel that thank you cards are an old time practice. I have the same point of view since I prefer to thank somebody in person. I have not had presents sent from another country or through mail daily. My best friend sends me Christmas presents every year but then I say thank you to her via chat. She tells me that I need to get the gifts from their home where she sends parcels and then I just thank her beforehand.

My good friend is usually contented with me thanking her over the social messenger or network. I do not honestly see the importance of a handwritten card. I could try sending pre-printed corporate Christmas cards to close friends throughout Christmas although not to family or relatives. The far more close you are with the giver, the far more awkward receiving a handwritten thank-you card is. Lately, I’m starting to think differently.

A thank you card is a present by itself. When someone writes warm messages, it can be a pleasant gesture. I mean someone took time to pick and give a gift, so giving a thank you would be the least anybody could do. In addition, if this single card could brighten the day of the person or bring a smile to who gave the gift then it is definitely more than worth it. I’m starting to think that giving a thank you note even if one has already thanked the giver personally is a great idea.

Many people feel like thank you cards are useless simply because they all end up in the garbage anyways. A personal message of gratitude in the greeting card remains in the heart and miind of the giver. Christmas isn’t just a time of giving but is likewise a time of thanking people. It isn’t seeking to feel significant. It is about knowing that a present is not a reaction during the holidays. When someone does not like the gift to take the time to write a sincere thanks, a gift becomes expected. A single thank you or even two exhibits gratitude.

Giving gifts is one of the many customs that everybody longs for in the holidays. People who don’t regularly observe the holidays have included giving gifts into their lifestyle. They simply celebrate the interesting parts.

To enjoy the amusing part of the seasons, my grade school teacher used to get us participate in giving gifts. The process of exchanging gifts is my personal favorite. There’s likewise a game back in secondary school wherein we raffle names and pick one. The person picked will be the receiver of these themed gifts. The instructor decides on the day-to-day theme and posts the theme on the board. It can range from something fluffy to something sweet. As if that is not a lot already, we must give the gifts in secret.

I had a hard time since I did not know if the person I picked out would like the gift I’d get her. It was a school for girls and girls like fussy stuff with no exemption. On one occasion, the assigned theme was something white and cute. I went with having peppermint for a gift considering that it was white and also candy is actually cute. I could hardly wait for just what the person who picked me would give me too.

That afternoon, I checked the gift drop box we got. I wasn’t seriously ready for anything at all. I would understand if the person who picked me made the decision to pass up giving me something that day. When I found that there was a present hanging around at the base of the drop box, I felt somewhat special. It had been a white envelope. I had been hoping it was not a hand crafted personalised Christmas cards. Those things are cute and white however I wished for snack foods.

I opened the envelope and then there was in fact a white card with kittens around the cover. That came to be the time I began hating gifts with a theme. The sender wrote that she suspected I wanted snack foods. Nevertheless, she could not drift away from our theme and so Christmas cards make an appropriate present. No wonder I have gotten terrible presents ever since. Clearly, I’m not so lucky in the gift giving and receiving area.

Christmas break got close and also did the time when we would disclose ourselves to those people we picked. I was preparing something nice that was definitely not foodstuff but a lot more like payback. This is the way I do things. I understood that my bad side had a season and a reason.

I quickly discovered that the one who picked me was my seatmate. It figures the way she could tell I needed snack foods. I handed her corporate Christmas cards and a calendar to thank her. She questioned what it was and I said that it’s payback with respect to the other card. She fully understood and left pleased.

If your relationship with your mother dearest can be a little fraught at times, show your appreciation with one of the many special experience days on offer. Whether your Mum is a fan of musicals, wine or perhaps is sporty, there are many different experiences to choose from.

Make this a Mothers Day to remember by whisking your Mum to London for the day to see a show at the West End. A whole host of musicals and shows are on offer in the world-famous theatreland that are sure to delight and entertain both you and your Mum. Choose from a matinee performance of Thriller, Dreamcoats and Petticoats and Legally Blonde for a wonderful day out.

If you really want to impress your Mum, why not try a spot of pottery. As well getting the chance to throw or paint your own pot or plate at the world-famous Wedgwood Visitor Centre, you’ll also learn all about the renowned pottery and its origins.

For Mums who enjoy a tipple or two, an English Vineyard Tour will be right up her street. As well as enjoying a working vineyard and lunch at locations such as West Sussex, Yorkshire or Gloucestershire, you’ll be shown the ancient art of wine making.

Put your glad rags on for a luxurious afternoon tea for two at Flemings, an exclusive restaurant in the heart of Mayfair. Indulge yourselves with the mouth-watering menu of petit fours, cupcakes, scones with jam and clotted cream and freshly-made sandwiches, as it boasts an eclectic mix of contemporary style and Georgian elegance.

For a truly out of this world experience, let your Mum enjoy a wonderful hot air balloon ride. You will enjoy the peace and tranquillity this sort of height allows you as you rise above the skies some 3,000 feet and soar past the countryside below.

The history of Easter gifts has a long and fascinating history. Gifting is tied to the holiday known as Easter, and ancient Pagan rituals focused at this time of year upon the renewal of the earth, the upcoming green new growth that the emerging sunlight and warmer weather encouraged, and the idea of birth and rebirth. The egg is a symbol of all of these ideas, and was adopted by and still is used in Christian Easter celebrations to this day.

To start, eggs were painted and decorated and used as gifts. They were given as a romantic gift to admirers, as well as to servants and children. People of Eastern Orthodox faiths made this tradition their own by dying their eggs red to symbolize Christs blood, and on Easter day they would crack the eggs, to represent Christ breaking out of the tomb. As technology improved, there were hollow eggs crafted from cardboard that were filled with smaller gifts, typically food items. Hollow eggs were also formed from sugar, and were decorated with sugar royal icings. Perhaps the ultimate gift egg was the Fabergé egg, which was studded with real jewels and was given originally as a gift for the Czar of Russia. Around this time chocolate easter eggs were created, and soon became a favorite holiday tradition. As an extension of the egg, the chick was also associated with Easter, and today children will often find marshmallow chicks as a gift that was linked to the original prominence of the egg in the Easter celebration.

Another type of gift you will likely find in modern Easter baskets are rabbits, usually in the form of a toy stuffed rabbit or rabbit-shaped candies and chocolates. This tradition also traces back to early Pagan traditions. Rabbits are known for their ability to reproduce, and this idea of birth, especially in early spring when rabbits tend to give birth to their young, helped to tie them as yet another symbol of this holiday season.

Clothing was sometimes associated as an Easter gift. In the early Catholic tradition, if the faithful were baptized the night before Easter Sunday, they wore white robes for Easter week. If they were baptized before this night, then they got to wear new clothes. Everyone wearing their robes or new clothes could then take part in an Easter parade, which was a walk after mass on Easter Day.

Because of the association with a new growth cycle, gifts from the garden are also connected to Easter. Easter lilies are often given as gifts because they bloom around the time Easter is celebrated.

Easter baskets in early times contained gifts to the goddess Oestre in the hopes that she would grant a good harvest. Eggs were often collected in baskets as well. German legend of an Easter hare, later changed to rabbit, which would bring a basket filled with sweets and colored eggs to children on Easter morning, was brought to America by early German settlers, and the practice continues to this day.

You can have your children paint a wooden egg for keepsake to start a new tradition with wooden easter eggs. Instead of putting a dye on real eggs, you can use this for an option. Aside that it can stay longer than usual, they are particularly unbreakable, unless you intend to break it.

Should somebody dropped the egg, you need to worry about messing it up with the contents that a wooden easter eggs may presumably have. Whichever house of the areas you place, they complement it. It’s not just easter where you can have put up and celebrate, you can use them as well on meaningful holidays or special days you wanted to observe .

You can design a wooden easter eggs yourself or you can buy them out. Your wooden egg should be completely dry before you apply any style on it. Before you proceed on forming the designs on your wooden easter egg, outline the ideas on your mind first. It may vary between whether you want to paint or bead it on. Wooden easter egg is not just limited on the chicken size alone, you can also have the size of goose wooden egg for a bigger ornament.

The White House wooden easter egg hunting is an event that occurred annually for the last 130 years on the lawn
of the White House. At around 1,000 or so activities of easter egg hunt is held within the grounds. The eggs that are up for prize from the wooden easter eggs are autographed by both athletes and celebrities.

In this event, you may visit the white house website to get a ticket and older children are encouraged to
attend. The arrival time is printed in the ticket individually because of the number of participants that are expected to come.

The white house event encourages the parent to assist the child in finding wooden easter eggs during the hunt. Because of the usefulness of the wooden eggs, they are integrated into activities like this.

Painting the wooden easter eggs can also be a fun activity for your family to have. Apart from painting it with the usual colors, sprinkle eggs with wet paint with glamour dust crystal if you want to have a sparkle effect. You can add stripes, bands and other accessories to customize your wooden egg.

Easter has been the time to remember Jesus Christ and what he has sacrificed for the Christians. When the event of easter egg hunt rises up, they can remember the event but the reason for celebrating is forgotten. The history of easter eggs should be remembered in the middle of the celebration of food and games. History had its significance to Easter Sunday and that’s where going to find out.

The egg in general is categorized as making a new life begin. For Christians and followers, this serves as a presentation for resurrection . As old as it seems, it comes a new breed of life in it . From Jesus Tomb, women were gathered to share off the cooked eggs that Mary Magdalene brings from the concept of Christians and followers aside from the symbolic interpretation of history of easter eggs. When Mary saw the risen Christ, the story tells that the eggs turned bright red. The egg interprets the stone of Jesus Tomb from the history of easter eggs.

Although another story arises . It is not really a conflicting story compare to the other. In this line from the history of easter eggs, when Christ has rise, Mary Magdalene went out to spread the word. In her earnest, she went on his way to the emperor to tell Jesus resurrections. The emperor pointed at the egg on his table and stated that “Christ is no more risen than that egg is red”. After releasing those phrases, the egg has turned immediately into bright red.

Because of this passage from the history of easter eggs, the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches dyed eggs as red to represent the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross. The shell serves as a symbol for the sealed Tomb of Christ. The resurrection of Christ pertains to the cracking of the shell.

The history of easter eggs may differ from one country to another and addresses a different influence over their culture . In other means, 12 eggs is placed to associate the story of the last days of Jesus Christ the same to those on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary up until the resurrection placed with other symbols as the story go along.

When you start to style and mold your sugar easter eggs you wouldn’t give a single thought that it’s made out entirely from sugar and egg whites .

There are lot of good things to remember during easter by families and one of them are sugar easter eggs. To make extra time with the kids, you can make this at home instead of guessing on some costs that you may spend when you buy one. Making this assortment is not easy as it seems, you have to invest time and fortitude when you make this one.

Mix in the egg white and sugars until they thickened in texture and add food color if you prefer. Put the blended ingredients into each half of mold of the easter-egg and pack it tight. Make sure that there are no spaces for air. Plane out the mixture on the egg mold when you filled it up until on the top edge.

To secure the stuffing from the fusion mold of sugar easter eggs, flat a piece of cardboard on top on the process of flipping it. Have it upside down for the egg halves to rest on the cardboard . At this point, the egg halves to be used for sugar easter eggs need to dry out a little before you can use them . You can let them sit at room temperature for about an hour, or you can put them in a very low temperature oven .

Once the sugar easter eggs started to form, you can begin shaping them out. When the outside structure is firm enough and the insides are still supple, you may proceed with the styling. Once the egg form has fully set, it cannot be reshaped .

Make use of a spoon to take any speck of sugar. Continue to scrape the interior of the egg until you have sugar easter eggs shell that is about ½ inch thick. Even as thin as you want it to be, you have to put in into place where it can provide more support.

When you have already set the structure of your sugar easter eggs, place the decoration and icings in it . You can also pipe a thin line of icing around the lip bottom half of the egg . When you are all done, put up the finishing touches and you’re all ready to present your homemade sugar easter eggs.

From days of diet and fasting, filled easter eggs meet the satisfaction of cravings more than an individual can expect. Filled easter eggs gives extra hint of taste over your dining table and on games without knowing first what’s inside.

Filled easter eggs can be sourced out from different ideas to come up with the best contents you can have for the eggs. As an illustration, you may take confetti. You can also take advantage of the shells of the eggs. You can create a hole at the top once you’ve drained out the yolk and dried it out . The size of the hole should be of average, enough for the air to come in and for not the confetti to fall.

Confetti filled easter eggs are best used to events, like parties. With the good combination over paints, colors and designs, it helps nourish the natural aura of your house decorations.

Apart from making the decoration you can also make candy filled easter eggs . With a mixture of white eggs and sugar complete with the egg mold, be careful on stuffing them with candies. Consider the sugar overload possibilities. Filled easter eggs can also be in the form of plastic easter eggs as a form of other option. At the time of Easter, this type of eggs may be used over to activities during the season.

When you wanted something out of the ordinary, make a peanut butter filled easter eggs to make your Easter Sunday. You can mix it cheese, cream, butter, coconut and vanilla together with the peanut butter. Add the powder sugar and mix. Put a teaspoon of melted chocolate from the boiler into the egg mold. Once completed, put it in the fridge for half an hour .

Pour in enough peanut butter to fill the egg while leaving enough room to put some more chocolate on top. Top the egg with 1 teaspoon of chocolate gain to seal it in. Bring your eggs into chill for 45 minutes and to see if it can be popped out, tap the mold gently. If you are not successful, let it cool again for another few minutes and try again .

Back then, Egyptians and Persians brought their eastern tradition by exchanging decorated eggs at the start of the spring to in return for the fertility. To come up with a new trend in commemorating seasons like Lent or Holidays, the process on how to dye easter eggs are introduced into the public.

How to dye easter eggs at first would need an individual cup for each individual color. Before you start coloring the eggs, bring your eggs into hard boil and chill them down later on. There should be enough space on the cup or glass that you will be using to immerse the whole egg. For the eggs to dry up, you should have a paper towel beside your preparation table.

There are various techniques for you to know how to dye easter eggs. Some have already prepared a ready-to-dye-your-egg kit which can be purchased from the store. It already includes some color where you can have your eggs colored. In each cup, put 3 tablespoon of vinegar in an 8-ounce cup size for each color . Dissolve a color tablet in each cup . Along with the egg dipper, it will be used to dip the egg without getting your fingers on the dye.

Together with the egg holder, it should be dipped at least three minutes from the procedure of how to dye easter eggs. Make the egg dry on stands that are made out of box with punctured holes.

If you manually do and select your own process on how to dye easter eggs, grab a paste-type food coloring found in the stores . To make the color dissolve quickly, use a very hot water with the color and prepare a paper towel roll next to it. The same process from the kit of how to dye easter eggs, add ¼ cup white vinegar.

Other hues can also be dissolved out with the same procedure. With the same egg holder, dip them into the dye only you don’t remove them from the holder until they dried out . The differences between the kit and the manual process of how to dye easter eggs is not much to identify since it involves the same process and only differs on the color tools used.
